However, earlier the Women’s T20 Challenge was being organized by the BCCI for women cricketers. It started in the year 2018, but was closed midway. So far it has had four seasons. But now the preparations for organizing the full women’s IPL are in the final stages. It has been announced by the BCCI a while back that a total of five teams will participate in the women’s IPL. Five teams will play in women’s IPL, know their value

BCCI says that Adani Sportsline Private Limited has got the Ahmedabad team. It has been sold for Rs 1289 crore. Indiawin Sports Pvt Ltd has got the Mumbai team. Its total price has been sold for Rs 912.99 crore. The third team of IPL Royal Challengers Sports Pvt has got the Bangalore team. This team has been sold for Rs 901 crore. The fourth team of the Women’s IPL is from Delhi, bought by JSW JMR Cricket Private Limited. The cost of this team is Rs 810 crore. The fifth team will be from Lucknow. It has been captured by Capri Global Holding Private Limited. The cost of the Lucknow team is Rs 757 crore.

What will be the format of women’s IPL?
According to the information, 22-22 matches will be played in the first three seasons i.e. from 2023 to 2025. In the league stage of the women’s IPL, each team will get a chance to play each other twice, making it 20. This time the top team in the points table will directly reach the final. The second and third placed teams in the league will play eliminators to become the second team to play in the finals. The BCCI had also said that the month of March would be the window for the women’s IPL. There can be 33-34 matches in the women’s IPL from the 2026 season. It is believed that the first women’s IPL will be organized in March this year.

When will the auction for the Women’s Premier League be held?
For the Women’s IPL i.e. Women’s Premier League, it is believed that the auction will be organized in the first week of February itself. In the news that is coming so far, it is being said that for this each team will have a total of Rs 12 crore, out of which all the teams will have to choose their team. However, an announcement about this is yet to be made by the BCCI. Also, it has to be seen how many players the teams can buy for the Women’s IPL. How many Indians will remain in this and how many foreign players will be there.
