Russian President Vladimir Putin may attend the G-20 summit to be held in India in September, but no final decision has been taken in this regard yet. Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov gave this information on Monday. Asked if Putin could attend the summit in India, Peskov said, “It cannot be ruled out.” Russia’s official news agency ‘Tass’ quoted Peskov as saying, “But no decision has been taken in this regard yet.”

Will Putin attend the G20 summit?

“Russia will continue to participate fully in the G20 format,” Peskov stated.Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov led the Russian delegation to last year’s G20 leaders’ meeting in Bali, Indonesia.Putin delivered digital addresses to the G20 summits in 2020 and 2021.On September 9 and 10, the leaders of the G20 member countries will meet in New Delhi.

Significantly, Putin did not participate in the G20 program held in Bali, Indonesia last year. During this the Russian delegation was led by his Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Top G20 leaders are expected to attend the summit to be held in New Delhi on September 9 and 10. Meanwhile, amidst the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, there is a possibility that Putin may attend the G20 summit in India. In this context, special importance is being given to this meeting.
