Mother Dairy has announced to increase the price of its milk by up to Rs 2 per liter in the Delhi-NCR region. The new prices will be applicable from Tuesday. This is the fifth time this year that Mother Dairy, the leading milk seller of Delhi-NCR region, has increased the price of milk. Mother Dairy sells more than 30 lakh liters of milk daily in Delhi and surrounding areas. At the same time, the price of double toned milk has increased to Rs 47 per litre.

No hike on cow’s milk bag

However, the company has not increased the prices of milk purchased from cow’s milk bags and tokens. Mother Dairy has attributed the price hike to the increase in the cost of procurement from milk producing farmers. The company said that the procurement cost of milk has increased by about 24 per cent this year as compared to last year. The company said, it has been an unprecedented year for the dairy industry. We are seeing a pick up in demand from both consumers and institutions even after the festive season. On the other hand, the purchase of raw milk has not picked up pace even after Diwali.

The increased price will be applicable from Tuesday

According to the information, the increased prices will be applicable from December 27. It may be noted that earlier on November 21 last month, the price of full cream and token milk was increased by Rs 2 per litre. Prior to the latest hike, prices were increased in the months of March, August, October and November.
