Ravichandran Ashwin, India’s top off-spinner, has dropped six places in the International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings released on Wednesday, but he remains joint number one in Tests with England pacer James Anderson.The bowlers are still there.Last week, Ashwin ascended to the top of the Test bowling rankings.He only took four wickets in both innings of the third Test against Australia in Indore.Australia won the match by nine wickets, their first on Indian soil since 2017.

Ashwin now has 859 points, the same as Anderson, and is tied for first place.The race to become the world’s number one Test bowler has become fierce, with Australia captain Pat Cummins, South African pacer Kagiso Rabada, and Australian spinner Nathan Lyon all vying for the top spot.Cummins, who withdrew from the last two Border Gavaskar Trophy matches due to personal reasons, is third with 849 points.

Meanwhile, Rabada has risen three places to fourth after taking eight wickets in the first Test against the West Indies.He has 807 points.Leon, an Australian spinner, has risen five places to ninth after taking 11 wickets in Indore.Usman Khawaja of Australia has risen two places to ninth in the batting rankings.
