A good news came for the unemployed, the government released these figures related to employment.

Unemployed youth are struggling to get a single job. Now even in the official statistics, their compulsion has been stamped. The unemployment rate for persons aged 15 years and above in urban areas declined to 7.2 per cent during October-December 2022. A year earlier, this rate was 8.7 percent in the same period. The special thing is that these figures have not been issued by any private organization but by the agency of the government itself. Unemployment rate is the percentage of unemployed persons among the total labor force.

According to the data released by the National Sample Survey Organization (NSSO), the unemployment rate was high in October-December 2021 due to the lockdown implemented due to the Kovid epidemic. However, even after this the unemployment rate in July-September 2022 was 7.2 per cent. Similarly, according to the 17th Periodic Labor Force Survey (PLFS), the unemployment rate (UR) in urban areas was 7.6 per cent in April-June 2022.

According to the survey, the unemployment rate among women in urban areas decreased from 10.5 percent to 9.6 percent in October-December 2022 on an annual basis. The unemployment rate among men declined from 8.3 percent on an annual basis to 6.5 percent in October-December 2022. According to the survey, the unemployment rate decreased to 4.1 percent from July 2021 to June 2022. In the same period a year earlier, this figure was 4.2 percent.
