RailTel has provided a biometric facility to prevent cheating in the exam like getting paper from fake or dummy candidates. RailTel is a public sector company working under the Ministry of Railways. According to the information received from the officials, in the Common Eligibility Test (CET)-2022 recently held in Haryana, ‘Aadhaar’ based biometric service was provided to prevent fraud like getting fake or dummy candidates in place of real candidates.

RailTel got this responsibility for the first time

Technology is used under automation and human intervention is minimized. The Haryana Staff Commission exam was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The official said that this is the first time that the NTA entrusted RailTel with the responsibility of checking the correctness of Aadhaar including biometric of more than seven lakh candidates.

Aim to make the exam more reliable

The automation project was aimed at curbing the conduct of exams by fake or dummy candidates and catching them during the recruitment process. So that the test can be made highly reliable. NTA had asked RailTel to ensure the identity of the candidates appearing for the Haryana CET by taking biometric and facial photographs at the centers before the exam. The ‘fingerprint’ and photograph of the candidate’s face were once again taken in the examination class, so that the veracity of the candidates could be checked.
