‘No chief minister is made on the basis of castes’, CM Gehlot’s sarcasm on Pilot

Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Monday that no one becomes the Chief Minister on the basis of caste. Along with this, he said that with the resolution of ‘Service is Karma and Dharma’, he wants to serve every community of the state. Gehlot said this in a program organized on Sunday in Nadbai Bharatpur. He tweeted some excerpts from the program on Monday. In this, he is saying in the program, “Today I am the Chief Minister, I want to serve every community, be it Jat, Gujjar, Rajput, Kushwaha, Jatav, Brahmin, Baniya, Meena. No matter what community people belong to, because I know that no chief minister is made on the basis of caste.

Pointing to his being the Chief Minister of the state for the third time, Gehlot said, “I know that today I am the Chief Minister, if thirty-six communities do not love me, do not bless me, then how would I have been made the Chief Minister 3-3 times.” ….” Gehlot’s statement is being seen in the context of people’s demand to make Sachin Pilot, who apparently belongs to the Gujjar community, the chief minister.

It is notable that the Chief Minister in Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot And a tussle was seen between former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot. Since the Congress victory in Rajasthan in 2018, Gehlot and Pilot have been at loggerheads over the chief minister’s post. However, during the recent Bharat Jodo Yatra, all party leaders tried to show solidarity. Gehlot also mentioned that there is only one MLA from his caste in the state assembly. He said, “The biggest thing is that my caste is called Saini, it is called Kushwaha, it is called Mali. There is only one MLA of my caste in the assembly, there is only one and that is myself. Even then you have made me the Chief Minister 3-3 times.

Gehlot further said, “Can there be a more fortunate person than me, who was loved so much by the public, trusted by the high command, I was a minister with Indira Gandhi, I was a minister with Rajiv Gandhi, Narasimha Rao I was a minister as well, three times Union minister, three times state Congress president… three times I was Congress General Secretary and three times Chief Minister. I have been assured that the love, caress and blessings of the people of Rajasthan are with me and I have taken a resolution… till my last breath that I have resolved to serve that service is karma, service is religion.

He said that he is working to provide good governance and development to Rajasthan. He said, “The last person, in the same manner as Gandhiji had said, it will be my endeavor to wipe the tears of every poor person of Rajasthan, irrespective of caste, creed or religion. It is my duty to give that good governance in Rajasthan, which will benefit everyone and Rajasthan will develop.
