Joe Biden told the friendship between America and India is the most special in the world, PM Modi said – it will make the earth better.

Washington. Praising the relations with India, US President Joe Biden said that the friendship between the two countries is most important in the world. Sharing a video montage of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recently concluded US visit, Biden tweeted, “The friendship between America and India is one of the most important in the world and it is stronger, closer and more dynamic than ever.”

After this, tagging Biden, PM Modi said on Sunday that the friendship of India and America is a force for the betterment of the world and it will make the earth better. In response to Biden’s tweet, PM Modi tweeted, ‘I completely agree with you. The friendship between our nations is a force for global good. PM Modi started his five-day visit on 20 June. He reached here on a three-day state visit to America from June 21 to 24 at the invitation of Joe Biden. His US visit began in New York, where he led a historic event at the United Nations Headquarters to mark the ninth International Day of Yoga on 21 June. Later, he was given a grand welcome at the White House by President Biden in Washington DC.

The two leaders held a historic summit, after which PM Modi addressed the Congress and a state dinner was hosted by Biden at the White House in his honour. During this visit, several major deals were signed to promote cooperation in key areas like defence, space and trade.

Prime Minister Modi and President Biden hailed the ‘landmark’ agreement to jointly produce jet engines in India to power military aircraft and the US drone deal. PM Modi on Thursday became the first Indian leader to address a joint session of the US Congress twice. His first address to a joint meeting of the US Congress was in 2016. During his address, he demanded action against the sponsoring countries of terrorism. PM Modi also stressed on reforming multilateral institutions including the United Nations and spoke openly about India’s relations with the US. On Friday, US Vice President Kamala Harris along with Secretary of State Antony Blinken hosted a lunch for the Indian leader at the State Department. PM Modi also met several top CEOs of America and India at the White House.

Modi, who arrived in Cairo on Saturday after concluding his state visit to the US, was received at the airport by Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly. His two-day state visit to Egypt at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi is the first bilateral visit by an Indian prime minister since 1997.

PM Modi held talks with President al-Sisi on Sunday and discussed ways to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries, with a focus on improving trade and investment, energy ties and people-to-people ties. Both countries elevated their relationship to ‘strategic partnership’.

President al-Sisi awarded Modi with the ‘Order of the Nile’, Egypt’s highest state honour. This is the 13th highest state honor received by Prime Minister Modi. Earlier in the day, PM Modi visited the historic 11th-century Al-Hakim Mosque in Egypt. He also visited the Heliopolis Commonwealth War Cemetery in Cairo and paid tributes to over 4,300 brave Indian soldiers who laid down their lives in Egypt and Aden during World War I.
