Patanjali Group: Patanjali Group is engaged in focusing on the expansion of its business. The group has set a target of increasing its turnover to Rs 1 lakh crore in the next five years, while expressing its intention to launch products for all types of consumers. Group chief Baba Ramdev told a press conference on Friday that plans are underway to reach out to every consumer group to achieve this goal. He said that group company Patanjali Foods (formerly Ruchi Soya) would play a key role in achieving this goal. Its turnover has been targeted to be Rs 45,000-50,000 crore in the next five years.

Ramdev said that our target is to take the business of Patanjali group to one lakh crore rupees in the next five years. It also intends to take the turnover of its listed company Patanjali Foods to Rs 50,000 crore. The group’s turnover has reached around Rs 45,000 crore and it has now left behind many multinational companies. He said that the group has been offering affordable products through Patanjali Ayurveda and now through Patanjali Foods, it will also introduce products aimed at the emerging upper-middle class. He said that the group has reached about two billion people in about 200 countries of the world.

The company’s focus is on planting palm trees

Palm trees have been planted in 63,816 hectares in collaboration with around 39,000 farmers spread across nine states across the country. Apart from this, the company is also setting up its first oil mill at Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh. Along with this, Ramdev said that the promoters of Patanjali Foods will sell their six percent stake to institutional investors in June to implement the provision of minimum 25 percent public shareholding in the company. Currently, the promoters hold 81 per cent stake.
