According to the World Health Organization I Weekly Report, there has been an increase of about 50 percent in new cases of corona in China in a week. The report states that between 26 December and 1 January, more than 2.18 lakh new cases of corona were reported. Whereas, 1.47 lakh new cases were reported from 12 to 18 December. Accordingly, there has been an increase of more than 48 percent in new cases of corona epidemic in China.

According to the WHO report, between 26 December and 1 January, there were 648 deaths due to corona in China.
